Membership Options
$145—The Annual Passport Membership (APM) entitles the member to enroll in
as many courses as they desire for one full year (four quarters). Additional
benefits include:
• Advance notice of upcoming courses
• Exclusive members-only enrollment period (before courses open to the public)
• Eligibility for lottery system when courses are over-requested
• Eligibility for FREE, one-time, one-year membership in the UCSB Affiliates
and Music Affiliates programs
• OLLI student ID card and name tag
Enrolling for Courses
Annual Passport Members: Annual Passport members will receive advance notice of upcoming courses before distribution of the public brochure. The time between this notification and the publication of the printed brochure shall be the “Annual Passport members-only Advance Enrollment Period.” During this time, Annual Passport members may request space in up to two (2) OLLI courses for the quarter. After the early enrollment period, Annual Passport members may request space in additional courses on a space-available basis.
All courses have limited space availability.
Courses that fill during the advance enrollment period are filled via
lottery. If you are not selected during a lottery, then we will make
every effort to place you in your second choice course.
Annual Passport members who submit registration after the pre-enrollment
deadline will not be eligible to participate in a lottery. Their request
will be considered equal to that of the Mini-Passport member, on a first-come-first
enrolled basis.
Current Annual Passport members may also enroll at the door, providing
space is available.
Students should bring their OLLI ID card and a photo ID.
An Annual Passport Membership may be purchased at a first class meeting
by credit card.
Annual Passport members who submit registration after the pre-enrollment deadline will not be eligible to participate in the initial lottery for Annual Passport members and will be considered along with Mini-Passport Members for any remaining spaces in courses on a basis equal to that of the Mini-Passport Members.
Quarterly Mini-Passport Members: Request for courses will be accepted beginning the first day of brochure publication or when the OLLI Web site is updated with the new course listings – whichever comes first. Completed course request forms and membership fees submitted early will be held until that date.
Mini-Passport members may enroll at the door providing space is available and they complete the membership form and pay by credit card.
Auditing
No guests or auditing of classes is allowed. Unless specifically stated, there are no admissions to individual class sessions available.
Cancelled and Discontinued Courses
UCSB Extension reserves the right to cancel or discontinue any of its courses. These decisions are usually based on enrollment figures. By registering early you help UCSB Extension recognize the courses growing enrollment and possibly avoiding cancellation. If a course is cancelled, pre-enrolled students are notified.
Parking
Students are responsible for all parking fees and requirements whether it is on campus or out in the community.
Disability Services
If any of our materials or courses are not accessible to you, please contact Disabilities Services (see below) and we will provide alternatives. If you require special services, please make your request at the earliest opportunity. Requests received later than two weeks before the start of instruction may limit our ability to provide the requested service in time for the first class session.

Discounts
Annual Passport Memberships and Quarterly Mini-Passport Memberships are priced to make them affordable for the broadest group of people. Thus, there are no early bird, UC-employee, UCSB Affiliates, UCSB Music Affiliates, or alumni discounts available on OLLI courses at this time.
Liability
The UCSB Extension offers a diverse range of classes through its Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Some classes may involve physical activity or the use of specialized tools or equipment, and such courses may expose the student to risk of personal injury. Enrollment and participation in courses must be with the assumption of risk by the student, who, by enrolling in the course, voluntarily assumes such risk. The University of California, Santa Barbara Extended Learning Services assumes no liability for injury arising from participation in the OLLI courses. Students may be required to complete a separate “Waiver of Liability” form to participate in some OLLI courses.
Refunds
There is no refund of the Annual or Mini Passport membership fee once it has been paid. If a student’s schedule has changed and they are no longer able to attend a particular class (before the class has begun) they are encouraged to consider transferring to a different OLLI class of their choosing dependent on space availability.
